Pages: Adult Children of
Emotionally Immature Parents

"Emotionally immature parents fear genuine emotion and pull back from emotional closeness. They use coping mechanisms that resist reality rather than dealing with it."

We go to school, we move out, we get a job; culturally, there are rites of passage for these milestones of adulthood. But there's no milestone for becoming an adult in our relationship with our parents. When do we acknowledge abuse? When do we get upset about mistreatment? How do we fully integrate into ourselves without reconciling past trauma? In this limited series, join Mike in reading the book Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, where you'll gain language and tools on how to heal from distant, rejecting, or self-involved parents.

We'll meet for six weeks. The reading load will be about 35 pages per week. Come ready to unpack the material as well as your parental drama. Mike will facilitate a safe and inclusive space to get real about one of the most challenging parts of adult life: our parents.

This group will meet for eight weeks, starting Sept 2nd, 2025. We will meet on Tuesdays at 4:30 pm CST.
